IP Address Lookup
Paste any IPv4 or IPv6 address to see its network class, country and organisation — plus an honest “is this a proxy, VPN or hosting address?” hint. Leave the box empty to look up your own public IP.
Look up an address
An empty box answers “what is my IP”. Hostnames are rejected — this tool only ever looks at numeric addresses.
How it works
Three steps, no account, nothing stored.
IPv4 or IPv6. A hostname, a range or a typo is caught in your browser with a concrete hint — nothing is sent to the server.
Normalised and expanded form, integer or prefix form, the range class, and the country / city / ASN / organisation record when one is available.
A likelihood chip — residential, datacenter, VPN/proxy or non-routable — with the reasons spelled out and a “not proof” disclaimer.
What you get
No keys, no cookies for tracking, no lookup history. Addresses are never written to a log or a database by this tool.
Parsing, range classification, integer / expanded forms and the IPv4-mapped check all run in your browser, so most answers are instant.
Every verdict lists its reasons and says plainly that it is a heuristic. No reputation score, no accusation, no fake certainty.
FAQ
What is my IP address?
Your public IP is the address the outside world sees. Leave the box empty and this page asks its own server — the only place that can see it — while your browser shows everything else. On CGNAT, mobile or corporate networks you will see the address of your carrier or employer, not your device.
IP to country: how accurate is it?
Country-level geolocation is usually reliable, and it is a registration record rather than a measurement: it describes where the block was allocated, not where a person is standing. City-level data is much weaker, IPv6 is coarser than IPv4, and any VPN, proxy or mobile carrier makes the location meaningless.
What is an ASN lookup?
An ASN (Autonomous System Number) identifies the network that announces a block of addresses — an ISP, a cloud provider, a university or a VPN operator. The ASN organisation name is the strongest hint about what kind of connection you are looking at, which is exactly what the verdict panel uses.
