House Floor Plan Generator
Type in your plot size and room wishlist and get a to-scale 2D schematic plan with labelled rooms, real m² areas, door gaps, dimension lines and a room schedule. A clear sketch to take to your architect — not a permit-ready drawing.
Draw your plan
Every change redraws the plan instantly — nothing is uploaded.
How it works
Three inputs and a wishlist — the plan redraws on every change.
Enter plot width and depth in metres plus the wall thickness. The outer walls are subtracted all round, so the inner area is what you can actually use.
Pick room types and how many of each. Every type carries a realistic German default target area (Wohnen 26 m², Schlafen 14 m², Bad 7 m²…).
The rooms are cut to scale inside the walls, each with its W×D. Compare target vs achieved m², then cycle the layout variant until the shape feels right.
What you get
Walls drawn to the exact thickness you enter, rooms labelled with name, area and dimensions, door gaps with swing arcs.
Rooms plus wall strips tile the footprint exactly, so every figure in the schedule matches the drawing to the centimetre.
Overall width and depth dimensioned outside the plan, plus a 1–5 m scale bar for printing or screenshots.
Choose 2 floors and bedrooms, bathrooms and offices move upstairs while living, kitchen and WC stay on the ground floor.
If your wishlist needs less than the footprint, the leftover plate is drawn as a labelled reserve zone instead of being silently inflated into the rooms.
All geometry runs in your browser. No account, no upload, no server round-trip — reload-safe and works offline once loaded.
FAQ
Is this plan permit-ready?
No. It is a schematic layout sketch with realistic areas — no structural checks, no building-code (Landesbauordnung) compliance, no stairs, no load-bearing logic. Take it to an architect as a brief.
Why is the achieved area smaller than my target?
Walls consume floor plate. With 0.24 m walls on a 10 × 12 m footprint you lose roughly 10 m² to the outer walls alone, plus every interior wall — the schedule shows both figures so you can compare.
What does the layout variant button do?
It cycles deterministic variations of the same room list: the cut orientation and the side each room group lands on shift, which changes the whole layout while keeping every room roughly its target area.
Is the plot size the house size?
Yes — the entered width × depth is treated as the outer face of the building, so the plan always equals your footprint. Subtract your boundary setbacks first if you are working from the plot plan.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. The calculation is plain JavaScript in this page; nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved.
