FAQ
Which fraction should I choose?
Choose the smallest fraction printed on your tape. Most Australian and US tapes mark 1/16 inch; finer cabinet work may use 1/32 or 1/64.
What does “always up” or “always down” mean?
The fractional inch is pushed to the next mark (up) or the previous mark (down). Whole inches and feet stay exact until the fraction reaches a full inch, when the result carries normally.
Is the conversion exact?
The decimal readouts use the exact 25.4 mm per inch relationship. The tape-measure reading is rounded to your chosen fraction, so it may differ by less than half a fraction step.
Can I use zero or a decimal value?
Yes. Enter 0 or any positive decimal up to 1,000,000 mm. Negative values and text are rejected with an inline hint.
Tape tip
Mark from the same hook, every time.
Convert once, write the tape reading on the cut list, and check the blade against the same reference edge before cutting.
