Formats, privacy and limits
Those three never leave your device: the conversion is done with the canvas in your own tab, so it also works on a slow connection.
Outside Safari, browsers cannot read HEIC. We copy the photo to a temporary file, decode it to clean pixels, return them, and delete the file immediately — no storage, no logging of your image.
15 MB per image, 20 images per batch, 50 megapixels decoded, max long edge 8000 px. Images are only ever shrunk, never upscaled, and the numbers you see are real byte counts.
JPG and WebP honour the quality slider, so a phone photo for a form can drop from 4 MB to a few hundred KB. PNG ignores it and stays lossless.
Arabic, Hebrew or emoji names are kept, only the extension changes — and duplicates become photo-2.jpg instead of overwriting each other.

FAQ
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
JPG, PNG and WebP are converted entirely in your browser — nothing is sent. HEIC/HEIF photos are the only exception: they are decoded by a temporary server copy and deleted the moment the pixels are returned.
Why won't WhatsApp or a portal accept my iPhone photo?
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many older websites, forms and apps cannot read. Converting to JPG fixes it instantly — and keeps the full resolution.
Which format should I pick?
JPG if you just need it to open everywhere, PNG if you need transparency or sharp screenshots, WebP if you want the smallest file for a website.
What does the max long edge do?
It shrinks the longest side to the number you type, keeping the aspect ratio. Setting 1600 is perfect for email or a job application. It never upscales, so small images stay sharp.
What happens to transparency?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose (white by default). PNG and WebP keep the transparency untouched.
Is there a file or batch limit?
Up to 20 images per batch at 15 MB each, 50 MP decoded, and 8000 px on the longest edge. Anything bigger is rejected up front with a clear reason instead of failing silently.
