Audio to MP3 Converter
Drop an MP4, MOV, M4A, WAV or voice memo and save the audio track as a real .mp3 at 128–320 kbps. Nothing is uploaded — the whole conversion runs inside your browser.
Extract the audio track
1 · drop a file, 2 · pick a bitrate, 3 · download the MP3.
Pick a file to see the estimated MP3 size.
How it works
Pick or drag an MP4, MOV, M4A, WAV, FLAC or OGG. It is read straight off your disk — the page has no upload endpoint at all.
Your browser decodes the audio track, then its built-in MP3 encoder writes fresh MPEG-1 Layer III frames at your chosen bitrate. The waveform bars fill as the frames land.
Listen once in the player, then hit the download button. You get the duration, average bitrate and exact file size before saving.
Why this converter
There is no server round-trip, no queue and no file storage. Great for private screen recordings, interviews and voice memos.
The audio is genuinely re-encoded to MP3 at a constant 128–320 kbps, so car stereos, podcast apps and WhatsApp all accept it.
Cut a clip before encoding (mm:ss), force mono for speech, and rename the file without touching a desktop installer.
FAQ
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. This page has no upload endpoint: decoding and MP3 encoding both happen in your browser tab, and the result lives in memory until you download it or close the tab.
Which file types can I drop?
Anything your browser can decode: MP4 and MOV video, M4A/AAC, MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC and WEBM. Videos lose their picture — only the audio track survives.
Which bitrate should I pick?
128 kbps is plenty for speech and voice memos, 192 kbps is a safe default for mixed content, and 256–320 kbps is for music you care about. Size is simple maths: kbps × seconds ÷ 8, so 192 kbps runs about 1.4 MB per minute.
Does mono make the file smaller?
Not on its own — MP3 bitrate is the total for the file, so mono at 192 kbps is the same size as stereo at 192 kbps (it just sounds better per channel). Force mono and drop to 96–128 kbps to roughly halve the size.
Nothing happens when I press convert
In-browser MP3 encoding needs WebCodecs, which ships in Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera). Firefox and older Safari can play MP3 but cannot encode it — the page tells you when that is the case instead of producing a broken file.
