Create an invoice online for free
Type your details, watch the invoice build itself with correct subtotal, tax and total, then print it or save it as a PDF. It takes about two minutes and your client data never leaves this page.
Build your invoice
Nothing is required to start — fill in what you know and the preview keeps up. Your draft stays in this browser only.

Printable paper shows the invoice only — no form, buttons or page chrome.
How it works
Three steps, no account, nothing to install.
Your name and email, the client, an invoice number and the dates. Defaults are today and today + 14 days.
Subtotal, tax and grand total recalculate on every keystroke — in whole cents, so nothing drifts. Spot the DUE or PAID stamp on the invoice.
Hit Print / Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF as the destination, or download a standalone .html copy to attach to an email.
What a US-ready invoice needs
Get these four things right and your invoice is safe to send.
Invoice #INV-001 keeps your books tidy; the due date tells the client when to pay — Net 14 or Net 30 are the usual terms.
Description, quantity, rate. Round hours to a quarter hour and keep descriptions concrete, e.g. "Landing page copy, 3 sections".
Enter the rate your state or city requires (0% if services are not taxable where you work). Each line can carry its own rate.
FAQ
Is the invoice maker really free — no sign-up?
Yes. There is no account, no email capture and no watermark on the printed invoice. The whole tool runs in your browser.
How do I turn it into a PDF?
Click Print / Save as PDF. In the browser's print dialog choose "Save as PDF" (Chrome, Edge, Safari) as the destination. The printed page contains the invoice only, at 2 lines to spare on letter paper.
Is my client's information uploaded anywhere?
No. Every calculation happens on your device. Your draft is kept in this browser's local storage so a refresh does not lose it; "Start over" erases it.
How is tax calculated on several lines?
Each line's amount is rounded to cents, then its own tax rate (0–30%) is applied and rounded again, and the tax amounts are summed. That is why the total can differ by a cent from a single blended rate.
What if a line has an empty quantity or a typo?
Blank rows are ignored, and anything unrecognised counts as 0 with a hint under the field instead of a broken NaN total. Negative rates clamp to 0.
Can I use a currency other than USD?
Pick EUR, GBP, CAD or AUD and every amount is re-formatted with its own symbol, still rounded to two decimals.
