Does eBay charge buyers a fee?
No. eBay's platform fees are paid by the seller out of the sale price. Buyers pay the item price, shipping, and any sales tax or import charge the order legally carries — which is exactly what this tool itemizes.
Why is my total higher than the listed price?
Shipping, sales tax on the taxable base, and any handling or import fee. The markup tile tells you the combined percentage over the listed item price.
Is tax charged on shipping?
In most US states, yes — shipping is part of the taxable base when it is part of the sale. Untick the box for the handful of states and cross-border orders that tax the item only.
Can I use this for a non-US purchase?
