Tipword
Type the bill, tap a percentage, and get the exact tip plus a two-line thank-you note you can copy, text, or read out loud — no mental math, no awkward wording.
Tip + note
Everything updates as you type. Nothing leaves your device.
How it works
Three taps from bill to a note you are happy to send.
Type the amount, or the amount per person — the math is instant either way.
Tap 15, 18, 20 or 25%, or type your own. The exact dollars show up immediately.
Add a couple of words, choose a tone, and copy a sincere two-line thank-you.
Typical US tipping
Starting points, not rules — tip what the service was worth to you.
18–20% for table service; 20% plus for excellent care.
15–20%, or at least $3–5 on small orders.
10–15%, rounded up for help with bags.
15–20% of the service total.
$2–5 per night, left daily.
Optional — a dollar or two for a hand-packed order.
FAQ
Do I tip on the tax?
Either way is fine. Most people tip on the pre-tax subtotal; Tipword uses whatever amount you type, so enter the subtotal if that is your habit.
Does Tipword store my bill or note?
No. All math and note writing happen in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no account.
Where do the note templates come from?
They are hand-written short thank-yous per tone and service type. Your optional words are inserted, and "Another version" cycles the wording until one sounds like you.
How is a split bill handled?
Enter the number of people and Tipword shows the per-person tip and total, rounded to the cent, alongside the full amounts.
